Last Saturday was a beautiful day for a ride downtown to catch the tail end of the farmer's market and then go nurse an americano in the lounge of the Ace Hotel.

Coming soon: my special local and state election endorsement extravaganza!

Also, I will be djing at Tiga (NE 15th & Prescott) tomorrow evening as --yes-- DJ Blue Ruin, re-visiting my musical roots with bands like My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, the Chills, Throwing Muses, Sonic Youth, Moonshake... on labels like Flying Nun, Creation, Sarah, and 4AD. Come say hello.

Looks like someone lost their boots. And, I've noticed lately that even people who make it a religion this time of year not to complain about the weather have been doing some griping lately.

That was a big blue sky day the other day. It drove me into the west hills so that I could stare at the fresh ribbon of white surrounding the valley.

Back on the east side, the dusk light was gorgeous and the air was right on the cusp of springlike warm and cool; the kind of evening that seems to get everyone and their brother out strolling the sidewalks and parks. I was (not) busy soaking it up.

I'm as excited as anybody about the plan to breathe new life into Centennial Mills. I'm especially excited to see what sort of magic the architecture firm of MS&R can pull off with the admittedly difficult project. I'm starting off this new batch of photos with a shot of the Mills from the eastside.

The rest of 'em are from the general vicinity of the Pearl District, including the two parks and Fenouil, a restaurant I wish I could afford to try sometime.
